Rob Laakso is an audio engineer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer with an array of credits for music releases, video, and television. As a musician, he has been featured on numerous studio recordings and international tours, most notably for the past eleven years as guitarist / keyboardist with Verve Records recording artist Kurt Vile. He performed and engineered all instruments for the theme song of Cartoon Network’s “Superjail!” and composed the score of an adidas 2021 Super Bowl ad. While living in New York, he was a staff audio engineer at Vacation Island Recording and The Orchard, and engineered freelance sessions in the city and around the US. From 2017 through mid-2022, he mixed for music and post-production in Portland, Oregon before moving back to his native Massachusetts. Recent projects include work for Google, Apple, adidas, and Epic Records.
He graduated from the Emerson College audio program in 2001.
