Rob Laakso is an audio engineer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer with an array of credits for music releases, video, and television. As a musician, he has been featured on numerous studio recordings and international tours, most notably for the past ten years as guitarist / keyboardist with Verve Records recording artist Kurt Vile. He performed and engineered all instruments for the theme song of Cartoon Network’s “Superjail!” and has recently composed for clients such as adidas. While living in New York, he was a staff audio engineer at Vacation Island Recording and The Orchard, and engineered freelance sessions in the city and around the US. Throughout 2020 and 2021, he has been mixing for music and post-production in Portland, Oregon.
He graduated from the Emerson College audio program in 2001.
